For a great downwind experience, we always recommend having at least 15 knots of steady, consistent wind and making sure everyone in the group is comfortable with the conditions. Safety, planning, and good company make all the difference. 🔥

Light wind days are all about technique, patience, and having the right gear. We had a great lesson with Ed @ebaas in around 10–12 knots, and he did an amazing job!

The spot where he usually rides is mostly light wind, so during the session he focused on learning new techniques, board control, and how to ride more efficiently in light conditions. Having the correct setup makes a huge difference, and he was loving his Reedin kite together with his 155 litewave board @litewavedave

Side-shore wind gave us the perfect conditions to keep practicing safely and build confidence on the water. One of the best parts of our OBX house is having a safe area for launching and landing right in front of the house, making every session easier, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone.

Choosing the correct kite size for your session is super important 🌬️

You don’t want to be underpowered or overpowered, but the good thing is that modern kites allow a lot of adjustment with the depower system. In many conditions, you can comfortably ride the same kite with more than 10 knots of wind difference.

At EK Experience, we usually prefer riding a slightly bigger kite and using the depower instead of constantly moving the kite around waiting for more wind. It helps create smoother riding, better progression, and more comfort on the water.

Choosing the correct kite size for your session is super important 🌬️

You don’t want to be underpowered or overpowered, but the good thing is that modern kites allow a lot of adjustment with the depower system. In many conditions, you can comfortably ride the same kite with more than 10 knots of wind difference.

At EK Experience, we usually prefer riding a slightly bigger kite and using the depower instead of constantly moving the kite around waiting for more wind. It helps create smoother riding, better progression, and more comfort on the water.
